Rob Ridley Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Crum!
August 31, 2009
Rob Ridley, branch manager in Grand Junction, Colorado, recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with Crum Electric Supply! Crum Electric president Jeff Hockin was on hand to present Rob his 25 Year Service Award.
Rob started in Evanston as a counter and inside salesman, later becoming branch manager. He then went on to assume the branch manager duties in Grand Junction, after the aquisition of Component Specialities there.
Over the years, Rob has seen a lot of changes within Crum, but also business in general. "In around '85 or '86, when I was in Evanston, we had the very first fax machine in town. When other companies found out we had one, they would call and ask if we could send some faxes out for them and how much would it cost. We never charged any dollar amount. But suffice to say, we never ran out of beer! That is also how we sent our daily invoicing to Casper."
"When I came to work in 1984, Crum Electric consisted of 3 stores; Casper, Gillette and Evanston.", said Ridley. "I’ve watched as we've added new stores, bought out some competitors, and grew in a state that our competitors thought impossible."
Ridley gives a lot of credit to owner and founder Dave Crum's "vision" regarding technology, and how it has helped set Crum Electric apart from the rest. "If it was new and out there, by God he wanted it."
Please join us in congratulating Rob for his his years of dedicated service to Crum Electric, and to our industry in general!
